Yesterday, I had the pleasure of attending a talk by Randall Munroe (of XKCD and What If? fame) in London. One key takeaway for me was the significance of embracing new learning experiences. Did you know that, on average, 10,000 Americans learn something for the first time each day that "everyone knows"? I’m sure we've all been in that situation at some point and recognize the sinking feeling when someone says, "oh, everyone knows that." This response really discourages curiosity and openness. Admitting when you don't know something is the first step to learning. Continuous learning is essential for personal growth and development. I hope we can all foster an environment where it's okay to ask questions and seek knowledge. If you ever find yourself thinking, "oh, everyone knows that," remember that no one is born knowing everything, and everyone has to learn it for the first time at some point!
