When I first ventured into the designer market, I quickly learned it wasn’t as easy as it seemed. Everyone thinks entering this industry is straightforward, but the reality is far from it. At one point, no stores were willing to stock my designs. I dealt with fraudulent merchandisers who promised connections with stores, took money, and then vanished, leaving me with piled-up inventory and mounting stress. Each passing day brought new challenges and invaluable lessons. I made mistakes, but I never lost sight of my goal. Slowly, I built a foolproof network—from skilled karigars and trustworthy merchandisers to store owners, amazing clients (after navigating through some very demanding ones), the right staff, and reliable vendors. Starting a business is one thing, but raising it to success is an entirely different journey. Determination to make it big kept me going, even when the odds were against me. Every scam and fraud I encountered only sharpened my instincts, teaching me how to filter out the bad and focus on what truly matters. Today, I feel grateful to have come this far. Get in shape. No one in business will never admit it, but you are far more likely to make sales, get hired, build a valuable network, and be well liked if you are in good shape. It's such an easy box to tick off and infinitely valuable: because most people aren't in shape at 30. You will have the upper hand in every interaction over someone who is out of shape. Notice how I'm not even saying ripped, just at least working on it. Arnold Swarzeneggar said he would sell much better compared to his out of shape colleagues. People are more likely to trust you. People are more likely to want to be around you. People want to be around "valuable" people, beauty, strength and discipline are forms of value. So many businesses do well simply because the founder has a good physique. Look at Hamza, his business was built off the back of his good physique, now has the number 1 Skool community which generates over $200,000/month with few employees. Obviously he is a skilled and talented entrepreneur, but it game him a huge boost. People want to buy from people they admire. One of the most attainable, admirable things is a good physique, put in the 5 years. Hit the weights. Eat mostly clean. Do a fun form of cardio. Walk. ABC ?? I was reflecting today on a discussion with a founder about the discomfort often linked to the selling process. Back when I began my sales journey, I was taught to approach it as a competition. We followed the mantra ABC (Always Be Closing, from the movie "Glengarry Glen Ross"...) This pushy method didn’t feel right, it really makes you and the clients uncomfortable. Over time, I’ve come to see that effective sales are more like a doctor's check up and a "diagnostic" process: it’s about understanding the client’s needs through careful questioning. I've shifted from using what felt like forceful language to asking empathetic questions, focusing on reducing pressure and truly addressing client needs. In over two decades I’ve learned that real sales success doesn’t come from high pressure tactics but from discovering what the client truly needs and solving their problems.
