Thoroughly enjoyed Wine Wednesday by InterGen tonight. Here’s a few of my takeaways from the fun, smart, panel talk, wonderfully moderated by Sandi Gilbert: From the witty Whitney Rockley: - Left a successful role to start her own fund with a partner. Took them 1067 days with no paycheque, but they now manage over $300M - The most under-represented group in GPs is black men, as per a new report from BDC that I need to download - McRock Capital has really interesting hiring practices with no face-to-face till the end to avoid any biases - It’s ok to have both roots and wings - Always be ready to wear your super suit ;) And from the inspiring Remi Schmaltz: - You only need to know 3 people to sell a company: corp dev, product, and the exec writing the cheque.
