Each day I receive the Candidate Experience Surveys sent back to us by our candidates. We ask them to rate us on our competency, responsiveness, and whether they would recommend us to someone else. I sometimes wonder if company leaders truly care about these results. In the eyes of many hiring managers, they just want a "great" candidate quickly. But is it fair that so many hiring managers think candidate experience is solely the recruiter's job? I would argue that hiring managers should care deeply about this. Overall, candidate experience is a team effort. Hiring managers have valuable insights about the role and team dynamics that can significantly enhance the candidate's journey. This information can help recruiters better sell the role to the ideal candidate. Hiring managers can impact the brand by conducting thoughtful interviews, being responsive to requests, and making legitimate and competitive offers. When we work together, we not only provide candidates with accurate information but also build a stronger connection between the prospective team and its potential new member. Candidate experience is crucial for hiring managers and the organizations they lead! It directly affects how well we attract and retain top talent. When we create a positive experience, it boosts our employer brand and makes high-quality candidates more interested in joining our team. When hiring managers are involved and engaged in the process, it helps make the experience respectful and informative, which can lead to better hires and higher acceptance rates for job offers. By focusing on candidate experience, we can have a significant impact on our team's success and create a solid talent pipeline. In today's competitive job market, it's crucial for all of us to play our part in making the recruitment process smooth and engaging. Let's team up to elevate the candidate experience! ?Does it matter to you? ?

What you might be surprised to know... In our 25,000sq ft plant, we offer both joinery and engineering. The usual approach in the industry is to be either one or the other. Starting off with pure engineering, we quickly realised the value of bringing joinery in-house. Not only does it make our lives easier, but it also translates to significant savings for our customers. With joinery and engineering working hand in hand, communication flows seamlessly (for the most part ?? ), timelines are managed more efficiently, and clients don't have to juggle multiple contract manufacturers for different parts of their project. Bundled jobs mean that not only time is saved, but costs too. This, combined with streamlined processes, maximises value without compromising on quality ?? These are just some of the ways we provide added value to our clients. We chat about some more in one of our videos: https://lnkd.in/eK-KFRgM Let me know what you think in the comments!

HVAC and Architectural Louvers It isn't just 500 FPM thru the Free Area "rule-of-thumb" selection anymore. Selecting louvers for building HVAC systems requires understanding performance to select the most cost effective product. The Pottorff LIST selection program is a tremendous tool for engineers and architects to make the best selection meeting the performance criteria. Sometime lowest product cost is the criteria. Other times total installed cost matters. In today's Climate Change focus the water penetration, structural stability and lowest energy use pressure drop matters. The LIST program allows selection evaluation based on all these and other required criteria for confidence in selection and specification. Contact your local Pottorff rep for help. In St. Louis and central Missouri contact Kuhlmann Supply Company. Ask for Sarah Haupert, Engineering Liaison. Pottorff louvers are Union Made in the USA. Made in The USA is specifiable criteria too.

One of my highlights this week was presenting our fire strategy design to a statutory approvals body on the project – an important step in any major project. The aim of such a meeting is to demonstrate that you, the engineer / designer, have: - Understood the relevant statutory requirements which the scheme needs to meet; - Exercised engineering logic and judgement to develop an appropriate design; - Outlined why your design is considered to meet the relevant statutory requirements. But what does a Building Control ‘approval’ actually mean? It’s a judgement that as far as can be seen, the relevant regulations have been met. One important concept for any new engineer (of any discipline) to understand from an early stage, is that a statutory approval doesn’t absolve you, the designer, of your design responsibilities. You, as the designer, remain responsible for your design decisions, specific to the piece of work you’re doing. So when you hear in any team meeting: ‘let’s do it this way, this is what Building Control approved on [another project]’ – as occurs often - treat this with caution. You need to make sure you’ve fully understood your roles and responsibility as a designer. You need to be comfortable that your design meets the relevant requirements, and speak up where the proposed solution is not appropriate.

What could have caused such a mistake? Highlighted below are some of the main reasons for improper installation: 1).Misinterpretation of plan If a team member misinterprets design documents or specifications,it could lead to incorrect installation. 2).Poor Communication Poor communication between architects, engineers and contractors can lead to misalignment of design specifications and actual installation practices. 3). Insufficient Collaboration If different teams especially structural engineers and service engineers do not work closely together,it can result in designs that do not account for the standard requirements of all systems. 4).Lack of Review Failing to conduct thorough review of shop drawings and installation plans can lead to errors that are not caught before construction begins. 5). Inadequate Planning If the drainage layout was not thoroughly planned during the design phase,it could result in conflict with structural elements leading to improper installation. 6). Inconsistent Design Documentation Variation in design documents or unclear specifications can result in misinterpretation during installation.

? Considering working with ICE but not sure what the process is? See below ?? First of all get in touch, either DM, phone - 01928 568800, drop us an email [email protected]?or complete the contact form on our website. For most enquiries we prefer to come out to site. Its better this way as we can meet you in person and get to see the job and site first hand. For a maintenance contract we would note down all the equipment that is to be put under the contract and check out the current condition and any access requirements. And if it’s for a new project, we would need to record details to undertake heat load calculations such as the size of the space, sources of heat like lights & glazing, plus building fabric and orientation i.e N,S,E,W. During the site survey we will give you an idea of when you can expect the proposal back, so you know an approximate time frame for receiving your proposal. Some quotes we can get back the same day, but some can take a couple of weeks due to the complexity of the design. Our proposals or detailed so you know exactly what you are getting. To accept the proposal, you sign it digitally. New customers will need to complete some onboarding paperwork and depending on the project size there may be a deposit to pay. Then we get to work looking after you cooling requirements!

Cost and Project Management for homeowners with £1M+ budget | Hybrid QS and PM services to suit private residential needs | London based
Have you ever nodded your head when someone asks you if you understand when you have no f@*king clue what they are talking about? Guilty ????♀? For me it’s mostly when someone explains a piece of technology to me. They could be talking in a different language and I would understand equally nothing ????♀? It happens a lot in my profession as well. Not everyone understands construction drawings. Not everyone understands the purpose of different drawings, showing concepts, structure, technical details etc. And yet people don’t say ‘I have no idea what this is, can you explain please’. They just tend to forward whatever it is to the next person ?? But if you don’t understand, how do you know the information you are passing over is what you want it to be? My favourite example is people with a set of planning drawings sending it to builders to price from. Good luck with that ?? They usually end up with a series of quotes that are not comparable because each one represents a different vision of the project. So you could equally just throw them up in the air and go with the one that lands on your desk. Let’s call this process airing the tender, shall we? ?? But coming back to the point, if you don’t understand something, just say it! I got to where I am because I ask a lot of questions. If something doesn’t make sense to me, it’s not going anywhere else. If you’ve got a project in mind and you want me to ask all the questions so you don’t have to, DM me.
