As we close out National Disability Employment Awareness Month (#NDEAM2024), it's important to reflect on how far we've come—and how much further we still have to go—when it comes to fostering inclusion in the workplace. Inclusion isn’t about grand gestures or one-off initiatives. It’s the everyday behaviors, small and intentional, that create a culture where everyone feels like they belong. As leaders, we need to ask ourselves: What are we doing to create an environment where all employees, including those with disabilities, can thrive? Are we actively looking at how our processes, meetings, and structures either include or exclude people? Are we doing enough to check our biases?
