Nutro Dog Food As a Retoucher, one of the things you're called on to do is to extend the image. That is, to add to the sides of an image. Sometimes it's a compositional necessity, but usually it has more to do with layout. I learned early on to always make sure I have access to the entire library of captures from the shoot. Otherwise a relatively simple task can become a time consuming nightmare. The image may suffer in the end. #advertisingphotography #advertising #retouching #retouchingservices #retoucher #composting

Juggling Wine ... This is test footage where I wanted to try something new. The goal was to replace a juggler's clubs with wine bottles. I took a photo of a wine bottle, cut it out and created 3 overlays on the juggler video track. It was a matter of key framing each movement of each bottle over top of the image of the club. When you watch the video in real time, the hands are moving with the bottles and you don't notice one small detail ... He never catches the bottles. But when it slows down, you can see the bottles are imposed on top of his hands. Since then, I've learned a lot about video editing. Now I would create masks of the juggler's fingers on top of the bottles so it looks as if he is really tossing wine bottles. Short videos come in some of my product photography packages. And while I may never be good enough to edit a Hollywood movie, I have a question ... If I hadn't mentioned the fact the bottles were never "caught", would you have noticed this detail? #videocontent #videomarketing #commercialphotographer #ugccreator

From the Kitchen to the Studio: How My Culinary Roots Shaped My Photography Career Starting my career as a chef taught me the power of repetition and consistency. I spent thousands of hours peeling, chopping vegetables, filleting fish, and managing stock 24 hrs at a time. These tasks were repetitive, yes, but they were also the foundation of my craft. This ingrained discipline has seamlessly transitioned into my photography business. The precision required in the kitchen mirrors the attention to detail I bring to every shoot. Just as I once knew exactly how to prepare each dish without even thinking, I now instinctively know how to frame a shot, adjust the lighting, and create the perfect image for my clients. The kitchen taught me that greatness is in the details, and consistency is key. Now, in my photography business, I approach each project with the same dedication, ensuring that the final product is always of the highest quality. Whether behind the lens or behind the stove, it's this foundation that allows me to consistently deliver excellence. I’d love to know what from your early days has set you up in business now, please share. *This photo was from some trifles I made quickly for the family last night. My son said he really had a taste for how I used to make them when they were kids, haha funny how nostalgic we can be with food. #kerilittlephotography #business

Yesterday was a first play (sorry shoot - it’s tricky when what you do is what you love!!) in the studio since we moved everything around, replaced storage and had a mega clear out and sort out. The new layout is magical, although my studio is big it felt like we had more room than ever to move around.?The afternoon flew past and I’ve got another pile of editing waiting for me now. Here’s a quick share from yesterday, great fun to do this but nowhere near as simple as it might look! The fork is upright in the centre of a Lazy Susan, as we wanted to shoot some video of it turning, as well.?So it needed to be centred correctly and be held upright - no mean feat as the fork didn’t want to play nicely. ? It refused to be held by any grip so my blu tack supply came out and saved the day. Then the fork and prawns needed to be lit but the light didn’t need to fall on the background as that would mean I ended up with a grey background instead of a black one.? For me this is standard every day occurrence so it didn't take long to get right. But this is a great example of why it can be so much easier to hire a great photographer rather than try to do something yourself. Why not give me a shout? I give you, Prawns cooked in butter sprinkled with crushed chillies. #prawns #foodphotography #suetoddphotography?

6 easy tips for your next action shot ???? 1. take test shots of your scene before introducing the action so you’re sure everything it set up the way you want, & your camera settings are good to go. 2. use a tripod 3. set your camera to take a sequence of photos in a row (I usually do 5-8) 4. natural light users - the quicker the shutter speed, the better. you want the action to be crisp & clear 5. use manual focus & focus on where the action will be taking place (sometimes i test the focus by placing something like a pen where the action will end up being & make that my focus point) 6. be prepared for multiple takes! in this example, i had lots of cupcakes ready to go in case i needed to reshoot (which i did ??) do you have any other tips for taking a great action shot? creatingkaitlin.com If you're looking for someone to help out with content & bring your product to life, I'm your girl! Tardis - ‘a building or container that is larger inside than it appears to be from outside’ We’d like to assimilate our approach to production to the above description. When tasked with producing campaign imagery we consider our involvement to be full service. A more involved shoot has many elements to pull together and our clients come to us because they know that we can take on the whole job and deliver exactly what they require. We are well-versed in researching and organising all that is needed and it is far more efficient financially, with time and for sanity! From initial brain storming all the way through to shoot days, with organising props, talent and wardrobe, building sets or finding locations, testing and selecting the right crew along the way. I bet for many of you, the final product is the top of the ladder, with many rungs climbed to reach it ?? It’s a bit like seeing that mouth watering cake in the local bakery, beautifully created and begging for a slice to be cut. But it didn’t just appear there - all the ingredients have to be gathered, prepared, combined, baked and presented to get to the ‘ta-dah’ moment! ?? Good analogy for my post, but now you are all just thinking about cake ?? If you want the ‘Tardis’ approach on your campaigns do get in touch. #FinishedPixel #productphotography #photographybusiness #localbusiness

5 top tips for great flat lay photos. ?? Tell a story - Flat lay photos are perfect for creating a story around the "star" of your show - Use other props associated with the hero that don't detract from it or overpower it ?? Leave some space - Leaving space between elements in the photo prevent it looking too busy and confusing - Negative space can also be used to add text in later ?? Layer it up - Stacking props and using those with different heights creates extra interest - Layering also helps to add to shadows within the photo ?? Use the floor & shoot high - You'll need to have your camera up high to ensure you can capture the whole scene - Set up your shot on the floor to avoid needing to swing from the chandeliers to get it all in ?? Tether away - Try and shoot tethered to make it easier to adjust prop locations before taking photos - This also avoids you needing to stand on a ladder to see through the lens I hope these tips help- what clever things have you tried to take your flat lay shots? A lot of work goes behind achieving 'The Perfect Shot'. We recently did a photoshoot of our new Gingers At Sea Catering Sets to get ready for boat season! It's really important to consider the following factors when planning any shoot: 1) Lighting 2) White Balance 3) Focus 4) Rule of thirds/Composition 5) Colour balance Experimenting with different angles and lighting equipment to capture images that would showcase our food in the best and most authentic way possible, we also focused on styling the angles to make the elements stand out. Doing a photoshoot can be fun, but it also requires a lot of patience and attention to detail. In the end, the efforts paid off as we loved how the content turned out. Content creation can be challenging, but with a little extra attention to the details, the end result is always worth it! Check out the At Sea with Gingers menu here https://lnkd.in/gvq8JsbN

Do not overthink it. When creating content for social media I think about how can I deliver it to my client before the deadline and hit the target, not spend extra time on retouching and worrying that something is not perfect. And here is my reason - social media post is not a large printed banner and a lot of things get shrinked when posted like macrodust for example. Another thing is that in small space you can have a whole set up for a product shot and no one will ever know as long as you know what you are doing. Thankfully I have a large amount of equipment and love to create all types of content, from stills to video, from simple lighting to a compacted color schemes and this is one of the examples. #photographer #contentcreator #newyork

A little bit of party in the pack! When it comes to stop motion, patience is the key. There has been a lot of times while shooting a stop motion, my hand or feet moved the tripod and the framing changed, I had to start shooting again. It takes a lot of carefullness and planning on how to keep things flowing smoothly, but the ulimate reward after all that hard work is always satisfying. Let's cut to the chase: in today's oversaturated visual landscape, occasionally you need to be outrageous. As a visual artist, sometimes you need to dive deeper by creating images that jolt viewers out of their comfort zones. It's like balancing on a tightrope between provocation and meaning. #photography?#food?#content?#quality?#foodphotography?#foodphotographer?#foodporn?#packagingdesign?#packagingindustry?#adagency?#addesign?#adcampaign?#agency?#foodphoto?#foodbrands?#foodbranding?#foodbrand?#studiophotography #foodbrands?#foodbranding?#foodbrand?#locationphotography?#socialemedia?#ppc?#ppcadvertising?#contentcreator?#contentcreation?#contentmarketing?#hearthealthawareness #drinksindustry?#drinkphotography?#craftcocktails?#drinkporn #drinks #spirits #cocktails #barrowsintense
