Diageo Achieves Impressive Growth with Premium Spirits: Diageo, the world's leading distiller and the company behind renowned brands like Johnnie Walker, Don Julio, and Guinness, has demonstrated remarkable resilience in the face of the ongoing cost of living crisis. The company recently announced a significant increase in net sales, reaching ￡17.1 billion for the year ending June—a 6.5% rise on a like-for-like basis. This success is further underscored by a 5.1% increase in operating profits, totaling ￡4.6 billion. A key driver of this growth has been the consumer shift towards premium spirits. Diageo have announced the launch of a new global division for its luxury spirits brands, Diageo Luxury Group, where the drinks giant will look to build its premium portfolio. The new division will oversee Scotch brands such as Port Ellen and Brora, whilst looking after 15 brand homes & distillery experiences (including the Jonnie Walker site). They will also manage London-based Fine Wine & Spirits Retailer, Justerini & Brooks, as part of the move. Luxury is not a new concept to Diageo, with their Rare & Exceptional division showcasing some of the most premium Whisky and Tequila on the market.
