Following my post last week on the inspirational work that the team Tech She Can are doing to empower women in tech, I’ve been asked by a few people about how we’re championing diversity and inclusion in our own business. Globally, women hold only 32% of senior management roles in the tech industry and even less in recruitment, where women hold only 25% of leadership roles. ?? While these numbers are improving, we know there’s more work to be done to achieve gender parity in both technology and recruitment. I've always been fortunate to work alongside inspirational women ?? When I started at SThree 15 years ago(!), my MD, Sales Manager and Team Lead were exactly that, and Hannah Peet and Alexandra Slater are up there with the very best sales people I've ever worked with (you should check out what they're currently building at Candidly) ?? I'm not proud of the fact we work in a male dominated industry, but I am proud of the fact that developrec are doing our bit to try and change that in both our partnership with Canon Barnett Primary School, and in our strategic partnership with UK charity Tech She Can - who are changing the ratio of women working in technology ?? The team at Tech She Can are the personification of inspirational, and I'm delighted that the work they're doing has been widely recognised this week, firstly by Computer Weekly, and last night at the Tech Women 100 Awards ?
