Design for longevity, design for reuse. We often encounter the term "circular economy" in the context of #fashion. But what does it mean, and how is it put into practice? How can the designer, as an individual, drive the #circularity? In contrast to the traditional linear "take-make-dispose" model, circular fashion (aka the circular economy in fashion) aims to reduce waste and environmental impact in the #design, production and consumption of clothing and accessories. In essence, its closed-loop system ensures that products are recycled or repurposed, in order to: ?? Eliminate waste and pollution ? Circulate products and materials ?? Regenerate nature Shifting towards a circular economy (CE) approach in fashion means extending garments’ lifespan and reclaiming raw materials for reuse, fostering #sustainability and #innovation in the industry. As for every change, the path is not always linear – it is a journey, possibly a circular one.
