DPIIT & Outlook Traveller presents ?The Great Indian GI Wedding – Kerala Edition? In the third episode, we witness that every detail of this wedding is a tribute to Kerala’s rich heritage, woven with elements that tell a story of culture and sustainability. Instead of modern beats, the wedding will echo with the deep, resonant sounds of the Maddalam of Palakkad, a traditional percussion instrument crafted from jackfruit wood since the 13th century. This GI-tagged treasure carries centuries of folklore, making it the perfect rhythm for a union rooted in tradition. But the celebration doesn’t stop at music—nature, too, plays a role. The wedding will include planting a tree in a biodegradable coir pot made from Kerala’s famous coconut fibre. Soft, flexible, and permeable, these eco-friendly pots allow plants to grow naturally, transplanting directly into the soil without disturbing the roots. ?A beautiful symbol of love and new beginnings, this small act ensures their wedding leaves a lasting impact. #GIsofIndia #IncredibleIndia #OutlookTraveller #TheGreatIndianGIWedding #KeralaTourism #MaddalamMagic #CoirPotLove #SustainableCelebrations?
