The highlight of a class today... a powerful conversation around driving and delivering value. The Stanford class is called the Power of Story, led by Professor Aaker. It has been eye opening and truly inspiring. She introduced the PACE framework and why it is vital to a unified mission. Today, she opened with... "PEOPLE want to be valued members of a winning team on an inspired mission." YES! YES! YES! (Confirming you must have all three to deliver value.) There is nothing more uplifting than feeling like you are part of team that values you- input, ideas and energy. There is nothing more inspiring than being asked to frame up the mission and execute it. There is nothing more inspiring than seeing everyone row as equally hard.

Day 1 of inspiring speeches. Steve Jobs was one of the biggest visionaries of our time. Here is what resonated with me in this speech: "Believing that the dots will connect down the road will give you the confidence to follow your heart, even when it leads you of the well worn path. And that will make all the difference." ?? Often times I spend my time and energy trying to connect the dots of life in the here and now. Truth is we will never know in the present how the dots connect. The dots will connect in the future, when we take a step back, reflect and learn. The dots can only be connected by looking backwards. "The heaviness of being successful was replaced by the lightness of being a beginner again, less sure about everything... It freed me to enter one of the most creative periods of my life." ?? Hanging on to what's known costs us so much, yet in the moment it seems like the safest option. When we dare to let go, we open ourselves up to new opportunities, new perspectives, new challenges and above all a new sense of self. "Have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become." ?? Following our hearts is the hardest thing to do, often it goes against our rational comfort. It goes against the opinions of our surroundings. But our hearts already know what the vision beyond the vision is. My biggest takeaway is to take the leap, do the hard thing, dare to be a beginner again. My heart already knows the destination, what would happen if only i dare to embark on the journey? What did you take away from this speech? Let me know in the comments! ?? Follow for more musings! #personaldevelopment #personalleadership #growth

For those facing setbacks in their careers: ? Your professional journey isn't a straight line; it's more like a rollercoaster, with ups and downs for everyone. ? Whatever challenges you're dealing with right now don't define you, neither as a professional nor as a person. ? Failure isn't a defeat; it's a lesson. Courageous individuals can spot the bigger picture and learn valuable insights. ? Think of setbacks as pulling back a slingshot; it gives you the momentum for an even bigger leap forward. Roll up your sleeves and make the most of these opportunities! Even Steve Jobs had his share of career reversals, like being kicked out of the company he founded. Instead of giving up, he started over again, embraced new projects, acquired new skills, and ultimately achieved even greater success, leaving a mark on history. So, stay resilient, focus on taking action, and trust that things will work out in the end. Follow your passion, hold onto your dreams, and never settle. Your journey has its own unique path to success ?? I hope that someday each of us will be able to look back and get to connect the dots! #CareerJourney #Resilience #ProfessionalGrowth #SuccessMindset #SteveJobs #EmbraceChange #DreamBig
