Founder & President at Deck | Connect to any utility provider

One of the best parts of building a startup is meeting entrepreneurs who are redefining industries through innovation. A few weeks ago, Cory from Kompas stopped by our office, and our conversations opened Deck up to new product and feature ideas. This left me thinking about how much impact comes from sharing ideas with the right people. Corey shared about some of the biggest challenges in real estate today: ? The industry struggles with fragmented data.?Leasing, maintenance, and accounting systems don’t talk to each other, making it hard to analyze and act on insights. Standardizing and simplifying data is key to solving this. ? Utility data is becoming a major priority.?Changing regulations are pushing landlords to improve energy efficiency, but financial incentives are what’s really driving adoption. ? Automation unlocks efficiency.?Manual processes like transferring utility responsibilities create friction. Automating these workflows can simplify operations and provide real-time insights. Kompas is much more a new idea than a new technology. This chat was a reminder that tomorrow's biggest winners are not going to be those with the largest resources, number of engineers or IT budgets—it will be those adopting new ideas at the fastest rate.
