How can your customer service team help you hit your revenue goals? In logistics, a CS team has a unique set of job responsibilities that go beyond just providing assistance and support to partners, contractors, and customers. They can also be a key player in driving margin and revenue. Here are some key skills and knowledge that can make a CS team weigh financially positively: - Being proactive: Anticipating potential issues can save you money by preventing TONUs, detention fees, layovers, and other compensation costs. - High sense of urgency: Communicating emerging problems in a timely manner can prevent your load profit from shrinking. - Proper training and being knowledgeable: A CSR who understands truck driver driving hours and daily miles will make better decisions when setting up appointments and identifying late arrivals when getting load updates, helping them to reschedule loads in a more efficient way and keeping customers happy. - Knowing the customers: Identifying and understanding clients and their shipping operations is crucial. Sensitive customers and hot loads might need special attention.
