Dayton Children's Hospital的动态

? Meet Tatum—an adventurous teen who loves lacrosse, soccer, and living life to the fullest. Last spring, Tatum’s world changed in an instant when she was thrown from an ATV while riding on a family farm. Despite always being careful, a sudden turn of events left her with serious injuries, including fractures to her spine and pelvis. ? But one thing saved her life: her helmet. Tatum’s helmet took the brunt of the impact, cracking from the force—but protecting her brain. Her doctors, nurses, and the trauma team at Dayton Children’s Hospital credit that helmet with preventing a devastating brain injury. Today, Tatum is back on the field, stronger than ever—and sharing her story to inspire others to put safety first! ?? March is brain injury awareness month. Did you know that Dayton Children's sees around 700 kids each year due to injuries on ATV’s bikes, scooters, skateboards and other wheeled activities? We want to see every child be safe while enjoying outdoor activities. Take a moment this month to share this story and remind your friends and family to wear your helmet! Every ride. Every time. ??
