Today's #IconicLesson is in an internal reflection: Innovation. Wow, this word has been thrown around a lot in so many areas of life. I wonder if we are focusing too much on BIG innovations and not thinking about the micro innovations (or life hacks) we can do in our everyday lives to improve them. One small "innovation" I made was a Lego Sharpie marker holder on my desk that lets me see the colors of the caps marker tip down. Before, I had this amazing-looking Sharpie box I got for my birthday, but you can't see the caps if you store the Sharpies properly. The Ultra Fine Point Sharpies have the marker color on the end and the cap. Newell Brands, why not this approach on the Fine Points? I digress. Although the Lego Sharpie holder is a small "innovation" in my life, I now enjoy the fact I don't have to do a blind pull and live on the wave of hope that I pull a good color for me to use while I take notes. It also gets me thinking of other areas of my life to which I can apply micro-innovation. I will start looking up more "Life Hacks" to see the small ways I can improve my everyday life. ?? I know it’s not January, but something about September gives off major "new year" vibes. The summer's winding down, and we’re diving into the final stretch of the year.
