To me, this change feels a bit like a compromise, potentially diluting the bold new course that the Neue Klasse line is charting. However, I remain optimistic. The BMW Skytop Roadster, a sophisticated design study unveiled at the 2024 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, is set to enter a highly limited production run. BMW announced that all 50 units of this exclusive model have already been claimed. Powered by a 617 hp V8 engine, the Skytop accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in just 3.3 seconds. The car features a targa-style semi-open cockpit, drawing design inspiration from BMW’s iconic Z8 and 503 coupe models. The production version is based on the BMW 8-Series, incorporating premium materials and advanced technology, including a head-up display and Bowers & Wilkins sound system. With a nod to BMW’s elegant design heritage, the Skytop stands out with its shark-nose front, flowing rear, and custom LED lights.
