I am excited to share that Plex, by Rockwell Automation continues to deliver outstanding results for all our stakeholders. Our journey with Plex began when the team at Strand Products, Inc. recognized the limitations of our outdated MRP system. As our company grew, the old system required increasing workarounds, which led to knowledge silos and ultimately constrained our ability to grow as a cohesive team. The Strand team compiled a list of 100+ unmet needs.? Strand Products’ Improvement Initiative “#997 – ERP Enhancement” had begun. … To put structure to the initiative, we then decided upon our strategic goals: WHAT & WHY Better customer experience (+X% customer satisfaction). Better employee engagement (+X% employee promoter score). Better financial management (+X% turnover ratios, cost controls). Stronger profitability (+X% gross profit). … Then high-level tactical: ? HOW Leverage data in process. Adopt a platform that will support our scale and accelerate our growth by providing tools to solve challenges of the future. … Next, we distilled 100+ needs down to 7 immediate majors for clarity around objectives: Major 1 – Certification packets (manual clerical errors = QA non-conformances) Major 2 – Realtime manufacturing status & variance understanding (EE incentives) Major 3 - Capacity planning & floor scheduling Major 4 – Quality Assurance (Andon cord to floor employees, alerts: QA hold, MRB, FAI, OTD, Time to Quality, Training, Preventative Maintenance, Calibration) OUT of excel and integrated with ERP system. Major 5 - Material traceability (more granular; advanced trace to subcontract processes) Major 6 - Tooling, calibration, PM (all tied to production data and scheduling) Major 7 – Alert messages to the production floors (dispositions, push revisions, rework build, special process, etc). We selected Plex, by Rockwell Automation after many discovery sessions with the competing system companies. I am proud to report that Plex has delivered on all promises since our initial implementation.? We have yet to encounter a “no we can’t do that."? Since go-live, we are far more effective and creative with our time. We can say with confidence that our growth is no longer hindered by unreliable data, delays in information transfer, or gaps in interdepartmental communication. We are thrilled to see how the future unfolds with Plex providing the momentum to drive us forward!!
