?? Excited to share that I've completed Uppsala University's "Mathematical Modeling of Football" course with distinction (grade 5/5)! As a physicist now building an EdTech venture, I strongly believe in the power of continuous learning. This intensive course covered everything from expected goals models to neural networks in football - the essential tools powering modern football analytics. My favorite part? Completing three challenging assignments that included: ? Analyzing Jude Bellingham's Euro 2024 performance using statistical methods ? Developing a novel "Expected Threat from Goalkeeper Distribution" metric using machine learning ? Analyzing running patterns in the 2023 Champions League final The most rewarding aspect was seeing how these advanced concepts parallel what we're doing at DataRook, Inc. - making complex data science accessible and engaging through soccer. While I'm diving into Random Forests and Pitch Control models, our footyLab students are learning their first Python commands by analyzing their own GPS tracking data. Same core concepts, different entry points! I had a ton of fun learning from David Sumpter and Pegah Rahimian. I also greatly enjoyed meeting students from around the world that share a passion for working at the intersection of rigorous computation and sport (looking at you Hristo Georgiev!) This continuous learning journey reinforces our mission: breaking down barriers to STEM education by connecting it to the beautiful game. ????? #ContinuousLearning #DataScience #SportsAnalytics #STEM #Soccer #Education

Congrats Gustavo! Very nice ideas in your projects!????
Very cool! Thanks for sharing!
