?? Thrilled to share an exciting milestone! Over the past week, I had the pleasure of working with Le Luu, Agnieszka At?asik, ElsaMarie D'Silva (she/her), Seth Cochran and Sakif Chowdhury to completely revamp the way we visualize Safecity's data. Our goal was simple yet ambitious: to create impactful, clear, and visually compelling representations of the data we collect on gender-based violence. Today, at TheSidebar event during #UNGA, we unveiled the results, and I couldn’t be prouder of what was achieved. At Red Dot Foundation - Safecity, we believe that data is only as powerful as the insights and actions it inspires. That’s why clear and accessible data visualization is key to our mission of providing actionable information for creating safer spaces. When patterns of harassment and violence are easier to understand, communities, policymakers, and local authorities can more effectively intervene and make informed decisions on how to address these issues. This revamped visualization not only helps uncover hidden patterns but also makes our data more accessible to the public, encouraging conversations and solutions that can create meaningful change. It’s a reminder that behind every data point is a person and a story—and it’s our responsibility to make sure that information serves to empower and protect them.
