DHMC recently won a $27.7 million federal grant targeted to not only increase scientific research in healthcare, but also speed up its implementation. As our chief research officer, Steven Bernstein, MD, told WCAX-TV, this grant will allow us to fund more projects, train more researchers, and strengthen relationships with partners in the region. “If we are good at what we do, if we succeed, we will develop tools, devices, diagnostics, medicine that will help people with all sorts of conditions,” Dr. Bernstein said. https://lnkd.in/eehpA5tD

NIH’s Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA) will fund Dartmouth SYNERGY, also known as the Dartmouth Clinical and Translational Science Institute. With 50 percent of northern New England’s population living in rural areas, the challenges of rural healthcare delivery are a particular focus of SYNERGY’s work. Three principal investigators on the CTSA are Anna Tosteson, ScD, Steven Bernstein, MD, and Keith Paulsen, PhD.
