Alzheimer’s isn’t stopping, and neither are we. This year, I’m participating in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, a cause close to my heart. The resilience and courage of those affected by this devastating disease inspire me every day to take action. By walking, I’m not just raising funds; I’m helping to support the critical work of the Alzheimer’s Association. They provide 24/7 care and support for families facing Alzheimer’s and other dementias, and they’re at the forefront of research to find a cure. But I can’t do this alone. I need your support to make a real impact. Here’s how you can help: Donate: Your contributions fund essential care, support, and research efforts. Register: Join me as a participant and start your own fundraising efforts. Share: Spread the word about this important cause and encourage others to get involved. Together, we can bring hope to millions and work towards a future free from Alzheimer’s. Please consider supporting my walk by making a donation or joining me in this cause. Your support means the world to those impacted by Alzheimer’s. Let’s make a difference together. The battle against Alzheimer's and other dementia-related diseases is incredibly personal to me, having recently lost both my grandad and grandpa to them. To honor their memory and contribute to the fight, I've committed to running the AJ Bell Manchester 10K for Alzheimer's Society. This isn't just about the run; it's about making every step count towards a future where Alzheimer's and dementia no longer steal our loved ones from us. To make this vision a reality, I need your support. I've set up a fundraising page where you can donate, and every penny raised will go directly towards research and support services for those affected by Alzheimer's and dementia. No amount is too small, and your generosity can make a huge difference in this fight. If you can't donate at this time, please don't underestimate the power of sharing. By sharing this post, you're helping to spread the word and increase the reach of fundraising efforts, which is just as valuable. Please consider donating through the link below. Together, we can make a significant impact. Thank you for your support, kindness, and for being part of this journey with me. Let's run towards a cure, one step at a time. #AlzheimersAwareness #DementiaSupport #Manchester10K #RunningForACause #TogetherWeCan --- https://lnkd.in/ehZi25MS

Fascinating research! It's incredible to see how interconnected our oral health is with overall well-being, including cognitive health. The potential connection between dental care and dementia is a powerful reminder of how much more we need to learn. Supporting studies like this can bring us closer to breakthroughs that could change so many lives. Every bit of funding counts when it comes to uncovering the root causes of diseases like dementia. Proud to support BRACE and their groundbreaking work! ???? #DementiaResearch #OralHealth #DonateForACause
Could dentists be key in getting to the root of dementia? A BRACE-funded pilot study showed a groundbreaking link between your mouth and dementia. But potential dementia breakthroughs remain unfunded. We still need you. BRACE received £3 million of research grant requests last year. We could only fund £705,765. Will you donate today to get to the root of dementia? Learn more and donate: https://lnkd.in/eMDsyF-E #RootOfDementia #WorldAlzheimersMonth

"I am making a wish. My wish is to make my JIA go away because I need a cannula in my hand every two weeks." This is 9 year old Ellie's Christmas wish. This is an extract from her letter to Santa. We know Santa may not be able to make her wish come true but we believe that a cure for JIA is possible - by focusing research on finding answers to the priorities that children and parents have told us matters most to them. Not just better treatments, not just a better understanding of pain, but long-term unmedicated remission. That is the aim. That is what parents of children with JIA, and children and young people with JIA tell us they want. This is what we are pushing forwards towards with our own research and in the research partnerships that we support. So these Christmas wishes that we have been sharing are not just 'pie in the sky' wishes but part of a bigger picture of making sure that research priorities are focussed on the right things that matter most. Thank you to everyone who has shared a Christmas wish with us. That alone helps to raise awareness of JIA which is so important for earlier diagnosis. And a HUGE thank you to everyone who has donated to our Christmas appeal that enables us to take even bigger steps towards our vision of a world where no child has to suffer from arthritis. Friends and Colleagues , I hope that this finds you well and enjoying your summer! As I shared here in the last few weeks, I was diagnosed in early 2023 with early onset Alzheimer’s disease. I’m fighting like hell to stave off this disease! The Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s is on September 28. I am fundraising with the Alzheimer’s Association to find a cure. Fact: In the US there are approximately 7 million people living with Alzheimer’s and by 2030 it is projected to be 8.5 million. I need your help meeting my fundraising goal of $7500. Please consider a donation toward a cure. All donations will be helpful and greatly appreciated! Below is a link to my Alz walk team site to donate and/or join our team for the walk. Also below are some facts and reasons to donate. https://lnkd.in/ebuhDPva Do you know someone who is living or lived with Alzheimer’s. Perhaps a beloved family member-a parent or grandparent, or a friend, neighbor or colleague? There is no proven way to prevent Alzheimer’s disease. Alzheimer’s begins 20 or more years before memory lost. There is currently no cure. Ultimately, Alzheimer’s disease is fatal. Lifespan depends on age of diagnosis, other health conditions, lifestyle and treatments. People age 65 and older survive an average of four to eight years after a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s dementia, yet some live as long as 20 years.

Dementia in Canada is more than a health issue—it’s a nationwide crisis impacting?communities, caregivers and those we love. ? Today, more than 700,000 Canadians are living with dementia, and by 2030, that number is expected to reach over 1 million. Behind each statistic are care partners who dedicate countless hours, energy, and compassion to support their loved ones. In fact, care partners provide an estimated 1.3 billion hours of unpaid care annually, often at a personal and financial cost. ? At CLEAR, we believe in the power of research to drive change. That’s why as a proud member of the Foundation's Board of Directors; I am thrilled to announce our year-end fundraising campaign with a 2X match opportunity for all donations up to $50,000 from now until December 31st. ? This is a critical moment to advance the science that gives hope to people facing Alzheimer's disease and related dementias and their families. Your gift today means double the resources, double the research, and double the support for a future free from the devastating effects of this disease. ? Donate now and make twice the difference. Together, we can drive change. ? #DementiaResearch #Caregivers #EndAlzheimers #DementiaAwareness #MemoryLoss #SupportScience #BrainHealth #Aging ? ?

Every quarter our team takes part in a charitable event and makes a quarterly donation from the overall billings at the end of each quarter, contributed by the hard work of each member of our passionate team. Last quarter wasn't an exception. We took part in Walk For Cure (thanks Alzheimer's Research UK for sharing this video with us!), and donated £2,217 to our charity partner. Among the leading causes of death, dementia is the fastest-rising health condition in the UK and the biggest long-term health challenge we face. Investing in research is crucial for achieving breakthroughs and delivering life-changing treatments. We've just hit 50% of our yearly target. You can support our team and make a donation on our JustGiving page to help us reach the £7000 target: https://lnkd.in/dgEVfJZ8 #alzheimer #alzheimerresearch #alzheimerdisease #charity #fundraising #lifesciences #lifescience #lifesciencesrecruitment Mark O'Brien
