What's your take on this Mcdonald's (New Zealand) campaign that features headlines that sound like drunk customers ordering food? Is it a bit of fun? Or are they glorifying alcohol abuse? Or do you not give a shit? ?? #teamknowlton #marketing #mcdonalds
It's pretty thought provoking. Not sure why but my first reaction was a bit uncomfortable.
Hmmm... Honestly, before I read the line at the bottom, I didn't make the drunk reference (I just thought it was a clever way to get you to stop and process it...like Mad libs.) Now that I saw the tagline I like it less than I did. I don't think they need the tagline at all for it to be effective. ??♂?
Well as long as they aren't drive through customers ?? TBH we've all had drunk MDs and I think these phrases may even be from an internal competition for the most entertaining order. People will always drink, people will always get thr munchies. Does this glorify things like that... for me no.
I think at the end of the day they're just leaning into a bit of comedy ??
Whatever it is, it's not "genius" as the majority of the marketing community on here think it is. Clever bit of copywriting at best.
Definitely just a bit of fun??
Fun but a little insensitive at the same time. I gave up alcohol over two years ago and whilst in the past I have probably contributed to these, now it’s making light and glorifying people who are intoxicated.
Late-night Maccys customers can often be pissed up. Seems fair to me. I don't want to live in a world where I have to worry about offending someone with whatever I say

1 年It is a bit of fun, but also, publicly making fun of people isn't really my bag, drunk or otherwise
