The truth hurts. Great Med Device Sales reps have a few intangibles... Here's the ONE that matters...?? You've got to posses the ability to change the temp of the room. You can't be a wet noodle. You have to have some personality to ya. Likeability. You just do. Do you need to be the Class Clown from your High School? No. Do you need to be an Academy Award winner? Surely not. But, you do have to have the ability to walk into a room... and bring some presence. You do need the ability to sound engaging over the phone. So, how does one develop this? First, understand that you have nothing to be afraid of. Nobody that you meet in this biz is going to be that much better than you. Respect everyone...fear no one. It's a comfort level that you need to reach with yourself. Can you stand in front of a large group and speak? No? Go to your local Toastmasters Club. Sign up. Go back to your Alma Mater and ask if you can speak to the students. Find a way. Get creative. Because if you don't have presence and you're not creative.... The DMV is hiring. ?? ?? I post every M-F at 8:15a EST Click the ?? on my profile page for alerts ?? College athletes make top-tier candidates for medical device sales Ever wondered why college athletes excel in demanding sales roles? Here's why: As a former college basketball player and now a recruiter, I've seen firsthand how the discipline, resilience, and teamwork honed on the court translate seamlessly into the fast-paced world of medical device sales. These athletes are already trained to perform under pressure, adapt quickly to new strategies, and thrive in competitive environments. ??College athletes are also adept at handling setbacks and bouncing back—essential traits when facing the inevitable challenges of the sales world. ? A team-first mentality enables them to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues. ? A strategic mindset helps them understand intricate product details and tailor pitches effectively. ? Resilience and dedication ensure they'll go the extra mile to close deals and exceed expectations. If you're looking for dynamic individuals who embody perseverance and teamwork, college athletes might be a great place to look! Have you worked alongside former athletes in sales? Share your experiences in the comments! Let's discuss! https://lnkd.in/en7E2mY9 #MedicalDevice #SalesRecruitment #CollegeAthletes

Why isn’t there a push to get more young people into Tech Sales? ?? A career as a doctor, lawyer, or engineer is always promoted as being a lucrative career path for young people but never sales! However, Tech Sales can be just as rewarding (if not more), yet it’s rarely promoted... Why is that? Here are a few reasons I believe: ? Lack of Awareness Sales careers aren’t pushed by the school system. Schools focus more on academic paths, and students often aren’t aware of how lucrative sales can be. ? Cultural Perception Medicine and law have been seen as prestigious for centuries. Sales, on the other hand, is often misunderstood or seen as short-term. ? Tech Career Focus When tech careers are discussed, it’s usually about coding or engineering. Sales roles, which drive company growth, are often overlooked. It seems crazy to me as Tech sales is one of the fastest-growing and best paid industries in the UK!! Personally it's something I wish I'd known about when I was younger as its a career path I definitely would have looked to pursue! What do you think? Is the dream job you had at age 7 the same one you have now? As a kid, your career dreams were huge. (Mine might’ve been a bit tooooo huge. I refused to be anything but a Teletubby Princess. Obviously.) You wanted to wake up doing something you loved. I wanted to be surrounded by smart, driven people and have days filled with surprises. But roles in academic sales can sometimes get bogged down in red tape and routine. Unanswered emails to PIs, grant fuelled budgets and an inbox full of product requests where everyone wants everything... yesterday. And for career progression? It sometimes feels like someone has to step out for you to step up. But what if there ???? space to do what you set out to do? I’m helping build a biotech’s first academic sales division. We’re looking for two Academic Account Managers - one in Houston (near key accounts like MD Anderson) and one in San Diego County. Since it’s a new division (well, sort of - they already have academic customers), this role is for someone who wants to build the rules, not just follow them. You’ll work closely with the Regional Sales Director to design strategies for academic clients. No rigid protocols. Bring your own ideas and energy. With Field Application Scientists, Inside Sales support, and academic friendly pricing, you’ll have what you need to close deals without the teeny tiny hoops. Their average sales team retention is 6.4 years, as internal mobility is a priority. ?????????? ???????? ??????? ? 3-6 years of experience selling to academic accounts ? Familiar with proteomics/biomarker services/instrumentation ? A people person who understands the value of walking the halls, not just sending emails ? Compensation: $110k - $155k base + $90k bonus at plan ? Interview Process: 4 stages ---> One with me, the RSD, VP Commercial Ops and the CCO If this sounds like you or someone you know, please send me a message on LinkedIn! ??

Would you tell your kids to get into Tech Sales...? Growing up the only jobs I was made aware of were vocational careers such as Lawyer, Doctor, Teacher etc. But I didn't have a clue about Tech Sales. This type of career isn't promoted to kids. I ABSOLUTELY love the career path I chose. RECRUITING Careers in Aesthetics LLC had the fastest aesthetic device rep placement we've ever had last week. It couldn't have happened to a more respectful, driven, and qualified sales rep. This candidate cold called door to door for almost 3 years selling pest control. He cold called and crushed his quota selling for ADP. He moved to Arizona so he and his fiance would be closer to family especially because they are expecting a baby. My team found him and all I can say is this kid is everything you look for with a young aspiring med device rep. He's hungry, articulate, grateful, coachable, and has an energy and zest for life that can't be taught. There's a reason why cold calling machines who are quota crushers fair well in aesthetics device sales. They've been through the trenches. They no how to deal with objections and adversity. It's candidates like this that make my profession so incredibly gratyfying. Do you love what you do for a living?
