I have come to understand the need to take a course atleast an introduction to cloud computing to help your career growth in Sales. Though it might not be necessary for everyone but for me who wants to be an expert in sales processes, I find it as a strong foundation to understand SAAS and being a Sales Specialist around it. I may want to go into cloud computing in the future, but I am gathering solid knowledge in Sales because I want to standout. Do you want Horizontal Growth or Vertical Growth? As a Cloud Engineer, you have two primary growth paths: Horizontal Growth and Vertical Growth. Horizontal Growth occurs within the Delivery Team: Cloud Engineer → Team Lead → Project Manager → Account Manager While this is just one example, there are various roles within the delivery team you can explore. Vertical Growth extends beyond the Delivery Team: Cloud Engineer → Presales → Practice Head → Director → VP → C-Suite Executive Again, this is just one pathway among many options available beyond the delivery team. How to use this information in an interview? When asked, "Where do you see yourself in 5 years?" consider the following self-assessment: Are you interested in purely technical roles? Do you prefer a blend of technical and functional roles? Are you leaning towards techno-managerial roles? Or are you considering non-technical roles?
