My vision for a transformative approach to AI oversight: Community Juries/Audits. By creating frameworks where diverse groups of community members, most impacted by social injustices can audit and provide feedback on AI systems, we can ensure these technologies align with our values and serve the public good. These community juries using the Measure CARE Model would not only offer transparency but also empower folks… typically left out ?? ????to have a meaningful voice ??in how AI is developed and deployed. As many of you know, I’ve been working on a project called NightHawk AI in my free time. NightHawk is a game-changing, next-generation tool for Investigations. It assists on-the-go detectives, private investigators and others in finding connections in their cases, automatically formatting their case notes and even predicting target behavior. In 2020, prior to AI becoming mainstream, I designed a similar platform called Apollo AI that was an AI Assistant for First Responders. Apollo went on to win three awards from the National Institute of Standards & Technology between 2020-2021. …and today, I’m proud to say that the spirit of Apollo AI lives on officially through NightHawk. With my new updates, (v1.4e3), we feel comfortable to begin onboarding current investigators to test the platform.
