Celebrate National Clean Up Day with us! Whether you organize a community-wide cleanup event to protect an outdoor space or perform solo acts of cleaning up the spaces nearby, every effort combined will help create a more sustainable future. We encourage Houstonians participating in a cleanup to bag plastic waste separately and bring it to a neighborhood depository for inclusion in our #10to90 all-plastic collection and landfill-diversion program. ?? Doing Our Bit for a Bigger Cause At Cross Productions, we’ve always believed that small actions can create big ripples - and it’s incredibly rewarding to see the impact of being part of the Plastic Free Communities initiative. This year, businesses like ours have played a role in reducing millions of single-use plastic items across the UK. That’s millions of pieces of waste not polluting our environment, sitting in landfills, or being incinerated. Knowing that our efforts contribute to this collective change makes us proud to be part of such a driven community. We’re also inspired by the creative ways our fellow Plastic Free Champions are leading the charge - whether it’s organising community clean-ups or advocating for legislative change to protect our oceans and waterways. It’s a reminder that every business has a role to play, and together, we can make a real difference. As we head into the festive season, let’s celebrate the wins, reflect on what we’ve achieved, and commit to doing even more in the coming year. Because every step we take brings us closer to a cleaner, healthier planet for everyone. Here’s to collective action and a plastic-free future! ??? #Sustainability #PlasticFreeCommunities #EndPlasticPollution #CrossProductions Sally | Kerry | Susan | Charlotte | Becky | Tracey | Marie | Aaron

Every piece of trash carelessly discarded poses a grave threat to all the species; it contaminates water, is ingested by wildlife, pollutes the environment and affects the climate. Recognizing the urgent need for action, #HCLTechCanada volunteers, in partnership with A Greener Future, undertook a mission to clean up the shoreline at Jack Darling Memorial Park, Mississauga. We cleaned the shores, picking up litter and other pollutants to safeguard and support local marine life and ecosystems.?????? ? Here are some numbers that reflect our collective effort: ???36 volunteers, dedicated 72 volunteer hours, collected?3,020 pieces of litter, including cigarette butts, plastic pieces, food wrappers, plastic and metal bottle caps, paper pieces and hygiene items. Impact: ? Cigarette butts we collected helped protect 703K liters of water from contamination.? ? Plastic pieces we collected prevent 6.6 pounds of plastic from being ingested by wildlife. ? Food wrappers we collected divert 7.6 pounds of plastic waste from Lake Ontario.? ? Thanks to our volunteers and?#AGreenerFuture?for organizing and supporting this initiative. Let's make a difference one piece at a time and build a sustainable environment. ? #SuperchargingProgress?#CSRatHCLTech

????♂? Have you ever walked past a piece of litter and not picked it up? ?? We've all done it at some point, right.. - I admit, me too. Excusing ourselves with thoughts like; ? I shouldn't have to pick up other people's rubbish, it's not my job. ? The local council will get that, it's why we pay taxes. ? I put my rubbish in a bin or take it home, I'm not part of the problem. ?? The Ocean Cleanup continues to inspire me with their amazing efforts! ???? but, they can't do this alone.... Time to rewire our internal thoughts and hold ourselves accountable; ? Pick up an extra piece of litter on a walk or hike, take care of the nature we love. ?? ? Share good habits with those around you, inspire others with your actions. ???? ? Be the positive change we want to see, become part of the solution.? #TheOceanCleanup #PositiveChange #GreenCleanEnvironment
Last Saturday, we took part in the Great Mangrove Cleanup in Kingston, Jamaica, organized by our local partners - Clean Harbours Jamaica and Grace Kennedy Foundation. ???? Plastic pollution is a pressing problem that must be tackled from multiple angles. We currently have 8 Interceptor deployments in Kingston; while we supply the technology, our local partners manage operations, waste handling, and local community engagement and education. The Great Mangrove Cleanup last Saturday brought together communities around Kingston around a common goal to clean up legacy plastic in Kingston's mangroves. In just over three hours, 8238 kg / 18,164 lb of waste was removed and is no longer harming the vital ecosystems of Kingston’s mangroves.

Today is Earth Day ?? It encourages us to come together and take action for a healthier planet and brighter future. This year's theme is Planet vs. Plastics - looking at how excessive plastic can disrupt the balance of life on earth. Scotland was the first UK nation to ban use of the most problematic single-use plastics. And we are thinking up new, innovative ways towards a plastic free world. Take a look at the inspiring Ocean Plastic Pots??. They collect discarded fishing rope and fishing net from across Scotland and make beautiful products for the garden, home and kitchen. Recently they've worked with communities from six Scottish islands to recycle 1700kg of rope and net collected from their beaches, and turn it into chic, colourful plant pots! On this Earth Day and every day, Scotland is taking action to help protect our oceans for future generations. The scale of the problem is vast and needs action at every level of society to reverse the damage. And acting together, we can. ??. #EarthDay #LetsDoNetZero #Recycle

This week marks National Recycling Week ?? Initiated by Planet Ark, National Recycling Week is a significant event that encourages local councils, workplaces, schools, and individuals to improve their recycling knowledge, build better recycling habits, and build trust in recycling. Did you know it is predicted by 2050 there will be more plastic in our oceans than fish. The ratio of plastic weight to fish weight in the ocean was 1:5 in 2014, which is expected to change to 1:1 by 2050. Apart from fish being the most affected by this, it has been estimated that nearly all of the world’s seabirds have eaten plastic at some point throughout their life. Encourage your local community to be sustainably active, every little action makes a difference! #nationalrecyclingweek #planetark #reducereuserecycle #lowwasteliving #lowwastejourney #climateaction #reducewaste #circulareconomy #circularliving #localcouncils #schools #community #terraingroup
