https://lnkd.in/eX9TysK3 Why isn't the government and police not supporting this guy/small organisation in taking more dangerous bladed articles off the road to help lesson the human right breaches to all U. K residents? Surely by now the police and government can recognise that what his doing is a good thing and potentially helping to safeguard the different communities. If anyone follows this guy you would understand that this is what he does, he takes and collects dangerous weapons from members of the public who no longer want to be a part of the weapon culture and hands them into the police, even though the police gives him grief for handing weapons in sometimes. However, doesn't the government also have a duty to ensure this? So if that's the case, how come no support has been offered to this organisation to help further ensure a duty of care to UK residents on a wider scale, as the weapon culture is effecting every one as no one is immune from been attacked on the UK roads, especially now that police officers are been casually attacked, society has gotten into a lawless state where no one has regard for much which I find alarming as no one is safe if there is no regard for authority. Everyone has a duty of care to each other, and it's all good turning a blind eye to a problem until the problem presents itself on your door step!

What a loss! Dr Evan Stark was such a pioneer writing about his groundbreaking research on coercive control and I will always be grateful and in awe of his achievements. His work will continue to inspire me, and now it is up to all of us to ensure coercive control behaviours has no place in relationships or society. COERCIVE CONTROL NEW OFFENCE (NSW) In November 2022, the NSW Parliament passed the Crimes Legislation Amendment (Coercive Control) Act 2022 (the Act). The Act makes coercive control in current and former intimate partner relationships a criminal offence. The offence occurs when an adult engages in a ‘course of conduct’ of abusive behaviour that is intended to coerce or control the other person (the coercive control offence). The offence has not commenced yet and will likely commence in July 2024. The Act also provides a definition of ‘domestic abuse’ for the Crimes (Domestic and Personal Violence) Act 2007. The definition will commence in February 2024. This legislation whilst welcomed it is complex and it is important frontline DFV workers and broader community understand it before commencement to ensure successful prosecutions. This offence will require a collaborative response. Open to invitations to provide a comprehensive breakdown of the legislation to your organisation or community. Investing in knowledge and preparation can only ensure those affected by the criminal offence are kept safe, protected and offenders held accountable.
