If #paper lids have a plastic outer edge, please toss those in the ??? #trash unless you want to be a "Super Recycler" and separate the plastic rim from the paper top. 100% recycled polystyrene (rPS) with a mix of open and closed loop:?SCHIESSER GmbH, a leading German underwear brand, announced last month that it has used certified clothes hangers made entirely from rPS since the start of the year. 60% of the rPS is made from ‘ECO PS’. The ECO PS is obtained from old refrigerators. It has earned the German RAL-GZ 728 quality assurance mark for the sustainable collection, transport, storage and treatment of the refrigerators, which prevents the emission of chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs). 40% of the rPS is made from other recycled materials, mainly hangers. Schiesser’s supplier W. Willpütz (Cologne) offers a takeback system for hangers made from PS. The quality of its recyclates production has been certified pursuant to standard EN 15343:2008.
