Hi, my name is Jeremy. I'm a school based therapist at Cummins Behavioral Health and I work with high school students. I'm going to spend a couple minutes talking about the importance of parents being role models for their teens and for their teens friends. So whether we realize it or not, our behaviors, our words, our attitudes, our mannerisms, our frequently being watched by the teams around us who are learning how to develop their identity in life. This is a process that's called observational learning. Now as teams are developing their own identity, it can be powerful for a team to see their parents or their friends, parents modeling positive behavior, open honest communication, healthy lifestyle integrity and involvement in their communities, just to list a few of those. Eggs modeling these positive behaviors and attitudes can make it more likely that a team trusts and respects their parents guidance and advice. Now, while we can't always be perfect role models for those around us, it's also really important to show our teens that it's OK to mess up, to apologize, and even learn from the mistakes that we've made and make changes in our lives. Teens often develop their moral values from their parents. Modeling positive behaviors and attitudes for them can help them develop a strong sense of individual. Legally that they carry with them throughout their whole life. Thank you for watching.
