California's Office of Health Care Affordability has proposed a 3% cap on annual healthcare spending increases. While the concept is noble and we all want affordable healthcare for all, this proposal has nothing to do with the affordability of healthcare. It does nothing to lower the cost of providing healthcare. The state is simply restricting the price they pay for healthcare. Their proposed 3% increase does not keep up with inflation, and it comes in the same year that the state increased the healthcare-only minimum wage by more than 56% to $25.00 per hour. So, the state of California is simultaneously increasing healthcare provider costs while capping our revenue. What could possibly go wrong? https://lnkd.in/gzGHgQrW
