Do you know that today, February 4th is World Cancer Day? Created in 2000, World Cancer Day has grown into a?positive movement?for everyone, everywhere to unite under one voice to face one of our?greatest challenges in history.?Educating, Preventing and Eradicating Cancer as we know it. Here in Delaware, CSCDE’s health equity efforts center on three values: access, affordability, and inclusivity, offered at no-cost. Access to and inclusivity of programming and patient education around the importance of screenings, prevention, and healthy lifestyles, especially for those communities who have been historically underrepresented and under-resourced, is accomplished via in-person, hybrid, and virtual offerings. We also ensure access to and affordability of quality health care, to include the prevention and mitigation of financial toxicity; we address health-related social needs so that each patient, caregiver, and loved one impacted by cancer can engage with programs and services that meet their unique needs. On this World Health Day, the theme "My Health, My Right" serves as a powerful reminder of the fundamental importance of understanding our rights to healthcare, particularly for individuals in #ruralcommunities who are frequently overlooked by the healthcare system. Looking forward to the rollout of the 2024 Celebrate Life #oncologyworkshops in partnership with specialist doctors to equip #primarycare health workers in the rural Eastern Cape about various cancers with topics ranging from symptoms, and diagnosis to treatment. This understanding can inform my contributions to designing sustainable healthcare systems and advocating for policy changes to address cancer-related challenges. At Climate and Health Connect, we proudly advocate for breast cancer awareness, emphasizing the importance of educating the public on early detection, prevention, and treatment. According to WHO guidelines, early detection through regular screening can significantly reduce breast cancer mortality rates. This year's theme, "No One Should Face Breast Cancer Alone," aligns with our mission to ensure every person has access to vital health services, including mammography and clinical breast exams. Education is crucial in fighting breast cancer together; it empowers individuals to recognize symptoms and seek timely medical advice. By 2030, we aim to see a reduction in breast cancer cases, in line with World Health Organization recommendations for comprehensive cancer control strategies. By prioritizing women’s health and promoting awareness, we contribute to the achievement of SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), fostering healthier, empowered communities. Together, we can save lives!

April is Oral Cancer Awareness Month, a crucial time to highlight the significance of early detection and prevention. Community Health Centers across Florida are dedicated to promoting oral health and well-being within their communities. Regular dental check-ups play a vital role in identifying signs of oral cancer early on, increasing chances of successful treatment.
