Good morning you wonderful lot! ?? Last week I posted about our Young Lives Blackpool surveys and the fact that a lot of people hold the view that young people don't care ?? I'd like to thank all that engaged in the post and ask a little favour if I may ? It isn't necessarily for Young Lives Blackpool but for anybody considering research with young people ?? I ask that you please share the original post (see link below) ?? This may help people in other areas of the country to engage in what one of my new, and very welcome contacts Thomas Delaney coined 'Participatory Research' ?? Of course this kind of research involves getting out there in colleges, schools or both to talk to young people in matters that concern them and of course reaching out with surveys ?? Be prepared for frank answers as this is no doubt what you will get ?? Then with them not for them ready yourself to help initiate the changes that they feel are needed in their area ?? And most important don't be scared, just be prepared to make mistakes or rethink things ?? I will be going back to colleges when they return to ask them to join us and shape their future for themselves and the next generation ??
