Each year, Fifth Third Day symbolizes our commitment to tackle the pressing issue of food insecurity, one community at a time. ?? In today's challenging times, food pantries are experiencing the same budgetary pressures that affect us all. With grocery costs having risen by 24.7% since March 2020 (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics), and less overstock available for donation, food banks are finding it increasingly difficult to support those in need. But there's hope! * On Fifth Third Day, and throughout May, our collective actions will make a tangible difference. A recent study by the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health has revealed a startling reality: at least 740,000 Wisconsin residents face food insecurity. This means that a significant portion of our community worries about having enough to eat, regardless of whether they live in urban, suburban, or rural areas. At Friends with Food, we believe that no one should go hungry. Our dedicated volunteers work tirelessly to provide essential food assistance to those in need, but we can't do it alone. We need your help to combat food insecurity and ensure that everyone in our community has access to nutritious meals. Here's how you can make a difference: 1. ??
