The type of candidate you look for shifts as you mature as a company: For Seed/Series A hiring: Think of your startup as a small boat embarking on a challenging voyage. You need versatile crew members who can handle multiple roles - someone who can navigate, hoist sails, cook meals, and repair leaks. These are your "Swiss Army knife" employees who help keep the ship afloat and moving forward in unpredictable waters. For Series B hiring: As your company grows, it's like upgrading to a larger ship with specialized equipment. Now you need expert navigators, experienced engineers to manage complex systems, and officers who can lead teams.
