Does an Event Manager ever stop being an Event Manager, even on vacation? I can't help but stop when I see an outdoor event being organized – I have to approach, check what's happening, and see how it's being done. While on a catamaran, I talk to the captain about what possibilities he can offer his clients and what kind of event he could organize for them. During a wine tasting at a splendid winery, I envision an exclusive car launch or another product premiere held in the late afternoon, accompanied by excellent wine. Is this a professional quirk? No, it's just that I love what I do. I observe what others are doing with great interest and share my ideas with undisguised pleasure. And what do you pay attention to, even in your free time #EventManager #Passion #EventOrganization #Professionalism #Vacation #EventPlanning #Networking #EventIndustry #LoveForWork

? 25 Days of LinkedIn ? ??Day 3 — Post for November 25 Question for Monday! ?? Ever wonder what it’s like behind the scenes in the wine and spirits industry? Recently, I hosted a wine tasting for the Greater Dayton Apartment Association. (Thanks Barbara Steinke-Hargraves !) How long was the event? Two hours. How many hours did I actually work? Six! Drive time, emails, communicating with event planners, organzing tasting notes… What might seem like a simple process is actually a blend of creativity, preparation, and adaptability. Selecting the right wines isn’t just about personal preference—it’s about understanding your audience, the environment, and even the season. It’s an art and a science! The best part? Seeing people enjoy the experience and knowing the effort made a difference. If you’ve ever been curious about the behind-the-scenes details of this industry, feel free to ask—I’d love to share more insights! ?? #BehindTheScenes #WineAndSpirits #EventPlanning #ProfessionalInsights #TastingExperience #HospitalityIndustry #CareerJourney #WineLovers #IndustryTips #SharingStories

Daily Dollop of Wallop #57 Well that's London Wine Fair done for another year. Granted, I only attended on the Monday and Tuesday, but still, I came, I saw and I left. At this point, I would love to know what you thought of it. Context being on the purpose of your visit; if it was just to meet some producers and have some meetings, then I guess it was just a batch of meetings that 'happened' to be situated at the London Wine Fair. For those that went purely to look, smell, taste, seek and discover then you may well have had the most amazing of experiences. If, like me, you attended for both of the above then I wonder how it went for you? For me, it was spot on for meeting up with colleagues in the trade. A chance to chew the fat, talk about change, innovation, education and all that jazz. I tried a few new bits and pieces which was an eye opening experience. Particularly the wines from Japan, Greece and Ukraine. It is always a hot ticket (not literally) to go and see the peeps on WineGB as you know full well you are going to taste some naughty bits of kit and meet the most amazingly passionate people. I wasn't disappointed there. However, what I found the most interesting was the quality and mix of seminars, talks, panel debates and masterclasses. This is an area where I think, as a trade we have not been anywhere near where we should be. The Harpers 30 under 30 was brilliant to see, for example. The emergence of new talent is clear to see and bodes well for future ideas and plans. My big question though is if there is room to make the London Wine Fair a blended experience of both consumer and trade? A week long event perhaps that caters for the trade and then a 2 day 'experience led' period where it is ticketed (opportunity for stands/venue to make some money back) and also the opportunity for consumers to taste what the trade has already tasted - thus the market research and testing is being done for them, directly after the trade show. Food for thought and something I believe, with the right brains could be a bit of a game changer. Leverage your beverage.

"Picking a Winning Wine List for Your Corporate Event." As a passionate advocate for elevating corporate events, I wanted to share some insights from my latest blog post on Finer Places. Head over to Finer Places to read the full article and share your feedback. https://lnkd.in/exR6iywM Choosing the right wines can make all the difference in creating a memorable experience for your guests. From selecting the perfect Pinot Noir to deciding between a crisp Albari?o or a bold Rioja, there are many factors to consider. I’ve also delved into how much wine to serve, what to spend on each bottle, and the best aperitif options to start your event on the right note. Understanding the nuances of wine selection, including the balance between more expensive reds and affordable yet quality whites, is key to impressing your clients, partners, and team members. Plus, don’t miss my tips on alternatives like Crémant for a sophisticated touch without the Champagne or English Sparkling wine price tag.
