Hello and welcome to another video of the remedies by create with Kim and Camera. Choose your colors wisely. They mean things. Explore the color meanings. Next, explore color palettes. And now we're going to take it to the color wheel. Go to canva.com Colors, and it's the American way of spelling it, and there's four different things that you have. I'm going to go through them in a different order from how they're presented here. I've opened the tabs already. I'm going to start here with color meanings. One of the things you want to do is play around in here and understand a little bit more about each color and what they mean. Why are they chosen by designers and different people? And they have just the basic colors here, but there are a lot of mint blue and lilac, and you can go through and you can choose the colors that you like based on it. However, if you notice this Crimson color and this burgundy color, do not go with some of these colors up here, right? They're on different color palette. Go through and read about the colors and the meanings. So that you can decide what colors you want to use on your oh, there is an end on mimosa. Explore the color meanings. And while you do, keep in mind that there might be different meanings for different people. For example, when I was being taught by my indigenous elders, we were in a healing circle and we were reminded that yellow could have different meanings for people personally, right? So yellow for one person can represent sunshine or a Daisy, the center of a Daisy. And for another person, it could represent the yellow of a bumblebee and have connotations of danger associated with it. So you want to think about that when you're choosing your colors as well. So explore color meanings, add canva.com. The next thing that I would recommend that you play and explore is color palettes. Now, what Canva has done is taken all those colors that were on the previous page, the meanings, and bundled them together with colors that go together. OK, because some colors don't go together. These colors here are beautiful. I was going to say, they're pastel. It's actually called Pastel Dream. That's actually makes a lot of sense. These ones here are like a mocha. So it has a dusty rose and then the Browns that go with it. These ones are more aquatic, but you go down and you see all the different kind of color combinations. Look at that. 99 pages. So here's one that's purple pasture of dreams. Really cool. Here's one that's pink cupcake delight. So you want to think about it again. If you want go through the Green Blaze, choose your greens. This one has a blue in addition to the greens. So choose if you want a little bit of a blue in there or just the green. And if you won't, go back to the color meanings and find out what those mean. What's the difference between the Kelly green and a lime green, for instance? Thing is that even though I would use these colors in my house, doesn't necessarily mean that they're the colors. Lie with use on my profile. They're not necessarily the colors that I would use for the graphics. And then I create. So think about that when you're going through about the different color combinations that are possible. So as you can see, this picture here has a bunch of really cool soft pastel colors. You can see the green here, and the icing is the green here. You can see that this pink here is here, and the Peach of the plate is here. And So what they've done is they made it so you can upload the image and then you can get your color palette from it then when you copy it. You can get the hex code and you can use that. Once you have the hex code, then you bring it into your color wheel. So there you go. That is the color palette generator. So we're going to take this pink, like I said, and we're going to copy that. And now we're going to take it to the color wheel. So we're going to place it in here. There you go. It changes the page. It's not a very cool color. So you can see the complementary color is that blue after it looks a little bit more green. If you click here, you can find the different kind of combinations of colors and how they're chosen. So a complementary color. As you can see, this pink is over here and the blue-green color is chosen from over here. Now when we go to the monochromatic, that means that the colors that are within the same scale. So you have the light pink and the dark pink. The thing is that these pinks go together. If you got like a Barbie pink beside it, you would not look as good together. So you want to know what colors are monochromatic go together. Analogous. Now we have the peachy color and another pink analogous triadic. So you can see a triangle has been formed here. So you have that same pink there with the green and this really nice blue, purple and then tetradic. When you have four colors and so there's some repetition, you can see in it. But here we have a little bit of a yellow. So when I'm choosing my brand kit and I'm playing around with my colors as my brand kit in Canva, I will actually choose the one color and then I will come and use the color wheel. I will get all the matching colors. You can see my colors that are here. And these are all ones that have been chosen for a specific reason. But you can see these purples at the end, those are all go together and in in fact, there's a red here. And here's the lighter red. And here's the darker red, here's the orange, here's the lighter orange and the darker orange. So these are actually like the rainbow colors, but I have them in the tones that are pastel, the bright color and then a darker color. OK, finally, I want to show you this page, which is really, really cool. It just shows you what I've been telling you about in a very official way. This is canva.com/learn slash 100 color combinations. Now you're going to see some of the things I've already showed you, but you're going to see something else a little different. This one is actually from a blog, and you can see that it's under Home Learn Design inspiration. And there's a table of contents of all the different things that it's talking about. This actually has a really good basis for understanding color, color combinations. If you want to understand monochromatic, complementary, triadic, analogous, tetradic, all those words that I used before, this will explain it in detail for you. Scroll way down to the bottom to this point. This is like the cupcake picture where the colors have been chosen from a picture. And we're going to see the color combinations. So these are what they're called and the colors that come with it. And then we see the examples it's way at the bottom. It's so worth scrolling down long things like this. Look at this. Fresh and bright is represented in this nature picture and you can see all of those colors in that picture. My beautiful. Some dude and professional comes from this landscape. Dark and earthy. Cool Blues, look at that right from the ocean. So the colors that we combine are the colors that are actually natural to us to see the human eye. It's what we see in nature, and artists have learned how to be able to capture that, to be able to represent it. I love this, the shoes. Extra color into it. And so this is some of the most remarkable color combinations. So this burnt orange you can see like here at the top on the roof and also the side of the rock here. This green here is right here. This blue is here. It's just remarkable to me. I just love looking at these pictures and how they've turned into these wonderful color combinations. Ice in the north. Isn't that a beautiful Berry color? Love it. And what adds the yellow color into it is the bird. So play around with your colors. That's the most important thing, is to really understand color color theory, where colors come from, how to use them, so that when you're using a template on Canva, you can actually change the colors in the graphic. And I'm going to show you once you have a brand kit, all you do. Shuffle the colors. Let's undo that, OK? Do you see how there's a blue spectrum here from blue to white that's monochromatic, from a dark blue to pale to white? See the green in the post? And the dark blue matches the dark blue here and the dark blue here and the dark blue here. They're all matching that to you, right? This is a different kind of blue-green color. And so when you shuffle, it changed the font color, it changed the background color, it changed the post color, but they're all the colors that I have chosen in my brand kit. Look how easy it is, and that one's really nice. That one's nice too. Some of them I don't like so much and some of them I do. Mind you, this brand kit doesn't necessarily go with this pictures. I have many brand kits. So you can see this brand kit is totally different. It has lots of pinks in it and then I go and change that. Ooh, that's really striking. That's way too pink. Two plans. That's not too bad. See. Simple as that. That is. The amazing world of colors from the perspective of Canada com whether you choose your colors using the color palette generator, get color palette Diaz, use the color wheel, or discern the color meanings, spend time choosing your colors. Spend time figuring out what you want to influence your who you are, how you represent yourself in the world, and what the interpretations of those colors are going to be from the people that are looking at it and. Your stuff. Remember that your personal colors that you love me or may not be the colors that you want to use when it comes to your profile. Choose your colors wisely. They mean things. And how do you do that? Look around. Look around on LinkedIn and see if the colors makes sense to you and your eyes. Do they look like nature? Do they look like they should go together? Do they look really bland? Do they need some little pop? Can you not see the popping of the colors? When you look at these like, what color pops, which one fades in the background, which one goes really well? Which ones the supporting color, which ones are just too much? Have fun and take care.
