Social supports connect Teens to people and programs. Natural supports are the human connections that Teens already have. When young people have access to these essential resources in their own communities, it is far more likely they will stay home, stay in school and stay connected.?Teens are more likely to use services that are easy and convenient and attach with people who understand them and their circumstances. It's not easy to be a sibling to a child with additional needs... they may feel overlooked or that they aren't receiving as much attention. And as a parent, it can be extremely challenging to ensure you're providing all their needs and empowering each of them. Important Note: It's not your fault. You do so much and have so much on your plate, it's easy for these things to get away from us. ?? Imagine one day your spouse changing your life by informing that she is now with child. As the child is developing in the womb of the mother you start to imagine and realize the things you want to create the best environment possible for your child. You seek out educational tools and books that both affirm and educate but are reflective of child. While on your search you find a void in the market in all big box chain stores. Unbeknownst to you this genre is silently growning and fining its way into the market. Then boom, the major distributor of educational materials intentionally boxes out those materials at the hands of politicians, Ill minded groups and portly educated people. Rather than allow the children to suffer you start create materials yourself. As the years pass you find likeminded people putting forth the same efforts and you create a community around the efforts. As that community grows you seek out opportunities to develop change in every area, city and state that you can find. Soon enough you’re invited to partake in an amazing effort or two and you realize this can be replicated anywhere.
