Today as I stopped by Red Cross to make a donation for those in Western North Carolina impacted by the hurricane something came to mind. Having worked with and for nonprofits for over 8 years, I've learned that one of the best ways to help those impacted by disasters like hurricanes is to streamline donations. Instead of sending mixed supplies, consider buying *all* of one thing. It helps organizations and volunteers move faster and get essentials to those in need in a more timely manner. Circle K is supporting the American Red Cross to help local communities as they begin to recover from the Los Angeles wildfires. More than 240 Circle K stores in California, Washington and Oregon will offer 40 cents off per gallon on fuel on January 16 from 4 to 7 p.m., donating a portion of the proceeds from the three-hour event to Red Cross relief efforts in California.
