ONE EARTH, ONE LOVE: ENDING THE PLASTIC REIGN This Earth Day, I was honored to be invited by Professor Sheikh, Head of the Geography Department at Govt. Lohia College, Churu, to participate in a webinar titled "Earth Day: Planet vs. Plastics," co-hosted by ISDESR and GEF-CSO. My presentation, titled "ONE EARTH, ONE LOVE: ENDING THE PLASTIC REIGN," wasn't solely focused on plastic itself, but rather explored the root of the problem. As Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh teaches, Earth isn't just external matter; it's a living spirit. We are interconnected - the Earth is part of me, and I am part of Earth. This profound relationship is fundamental to caring for our planet. Without this understanding, healing ourselves and the Earth becomes impossible. Thich Nhat Hanh also reminds us that actions taken with love, harmony, and compassion, even if seemingly unsuccessful by traditional measures, are inherently successful. They become a force for good that ripples through the world.
