IRP Best Practices paper is finally out! Lisa Schwartz and I teamed up with our colleagues at Synapse Energy Economics to develop one of the most comprehensive guides to produce effective, rigorous, and transparent integrated resource plans. We had ~40 industry reviewers provide over 800 comments on earlier drafts to ensure this document indeed reflects industry best practices. Among many valuable technical aspects that he addressed, he emphasized the importance of conducting relevant research in academia to support real-world developments and address pressing concerns. The key takeaway was: DON'T PLAN YOUR CAREER, PLAN YOUR IMPACT! The career suited to you will follow. And Wow - That's it. that's the post.

Don’t Judge by Title – Judge by Energy ---------------------------------------- I don’t see organizations, individuals, or nations as titles or systems with fancy names. I see them as structures powered by energy, whether that’s at the cellular level for a human or the collective energy of people in an organization. Weak energy levels in people lead to weak organizations. Low-energy leadership produces a culture that might think it’s strong, but in reality, it’s only operating on minimal power. A group of people with weak energy will naturally believe in a weak system for their organization or nation. True greatness requires a huge amount of energy—both individual and collective. Judge by energy, not titles. True power comes from the force behind it, not the fancy title of the systems or giant title of persons.
