? Catch Up Quick Association of Defense Communities (ADC)'s #IIF24 | What's clear is the need for more conversations between the #nationaldefense and electricity industry stakeholders on #regionalresilience. Our breakout session validated that both stakeholders are willing to coordinate to enhance the U.S. #transmission system’s national defense capabilities. Thank you to everyone who attended the Breakout Session: "Call to Action: Mobilizing #DefenseCommunities for #GridExpansion:" ?? “We recognize that we have equity in the transmission system.” — Will Rogers, Senior Climate Advisor, United States Department of the Army ?? “We are not just bystanders in the #energy transition. We need to be advocates." — Jonathon Monken, Converge Strategies, LLC Public-private partnerships between the United States Department of Defense and industry are necessary to help installations access the full breadth of #resilience measures available to them and their communities. Thanks for facilitating the session. My biggest takeaway was reaffirming that relationships matter so much. Every installation is different with different stakeholders, so you have to do the hard work to figure out who needs to do what and who needs to talk to whom. As heard in another session from Air Force Col. Jewell, you can’t surge trust. When you know a process (or project) takes years already, you can’t just wait until you need people to build a team.
