Just get something down. Your first idea is just the beginning. if you can answer a brief with your first idea. It might be one of the following. ?????The brief is gold and it’s almost done for you (rare). ?????You’ve been extremely lucky. ?????Have some chops already with the brand or product. ?????You're an inexperienced creative. Your first thought might be ok, but it's not brilliant. But that's cool. A start has been made and you are on your way. On to the next idea and the next idea and the next idea. You may go back to the first idea and it’s still not brilliant but there’s something about it. ? So, if you're a true creative pro. Go and make it brilliant or use it to make something else brilliant. Yes, there are times the first idea is great,? but it’s more likely that it’s not. Amateurs go with the first idea. No Camera. No Setup. No Mic. No Excuses. When I began creating content, I had nothing. Just a family android phone. This picture from 2020 takes me back to one of my early YouTube videos, a short documentary I had a vision for—but no resources. I didn’t let that stop me. I called two of my closest friends, shared my idea, and together, we made it happen. We had no fancy equipment, just a black cloth we pinned to the wall in the most makeshift way (you should’ve seen us struggling, haha!). We didn’t have a tripod, so my friend held the phone while we shot. It was raw, unpolished, but filled with passion. Today, things are different. I’ve got a fully equipped studio, the best cameras, mics, and lights—Alhamdulillah. But you know what? Those things aren’t what made the difference. The one thing that carried me from then to now? BELIEF. Belief in the process, belief that what you have today is enough to get started. You don’t need the perfect setup. You need the willingness to make it work. Resources come and go, but your drive to keep going? That’s what really matters. So, to anyone feeling stuck because they don’t have “enough”—don’t wait. Don’t let excuses block your path. Start where you are, use what you have, and keep building, one step at a time. Trust the process. Keep pushing forward. Because every small step takes you closer to the dream. Never stop building. Never stop believing.

Creative block. One of the most dreaded situations for a creative. While I'd love to say I have nothing but facts about how to deal with creative block, I can only share my perspective. So here are 6 ways I deal with creative block. 1. Give yourself a deadline: Sometimes the way to break through the creative block is to push through it. When you have a deadline, it's harder to procrastinate and ignore the work. 2. Step Away: Go for a walk. Work on something else. Come back the next day. Don't be afraid to give yourself a little time so you can come back to your project with a fresh set of eyes and a clear mind. 3. Explore One Idea: Having unlimited options can feel daunting. Sometimes it's best to focus on one thing. Instead of trying to reinvent the wheel every time, try to explore one idea or concept to its fullest before moving on to something new. 4. Try Something New: Sometimes we get stuck in monotony and don't feel creative. What might be best is to do something completely different from the usual. Don't allow yourself to put on 'auto-pilot'! 5. Revist Old Ideas: It's easy to get caught up in looking towards the future, but sometimes we can bring new life to old ideas. 6. Wait: Unfortunately, sometimes time is the only way to defeat creative block. It may be frustrating, but accepting this will allow you to not get frustrated causing the creative block to remain longer. No matter what, the creative block will pass. So take a deep breath, and relax. You'll get through it and come back with more enthusiasm than before! I had so many ideas but couldn’t get anything done..... I kept thinking, "If only I had more time or resources, I could create something great." But that wasn’t helping at all. Then I read something in Austin Kleon’s 'Steal Like an Artist' that changed my thinking: embrace constraints to boost creativity. It sounded odd, but I decided to try it out. Here’s what I did: ~Gave myself just 10 minutes to write a post. ~Set a word limit for my ideas. ~Focused on just one small part of a topic instead of everything. To my surprise, it worked! These limits helped me stay focused, and my ideas started flowing better. It made me think differently and created sharper content. Full piece here: https://lnkd.in/e_RMR7vC ----- Everyone is creative. Creativity is imagination, and imagination is for everyone. And you don’t need to ride a boat with Gene Wilder to be creative. Roll back the years to when you were a youngster, experiencing much of life for the first time, asking questions, using your imagination continuously. Every day was a learning day, just as every day was also a day where you may wonder why you can’t see the moon in the daytime, why broccoli couldn’t just taste nice, or why the naughty step held such power over you. As adults, this level of creativity can be hard to harbour. But it’s not lost. With so many other distractions or over-riding thoughts – as well as now liking broccoli – often that creative spark sits snoozing somewhere behind ‘I must buy milk tonight’ or, more likely, ‘Client X is expecting this in an hour’. Yet, when you do unlock your creative brain, when you push into new territories and test your limits – that is when you can make something show-stopping. It’s no coincidence that agencies’ most creative work are their primary case studies, or that prospective clients will always want you to bring something new to the table, or – in the gaming sphere in particular – everyone wants to activate like creative powerhouses such as Paddy Power. The best thing about creativity is there is no rulebook. Ask a ‘creative’ how to be creative and you’ll get 1,000 different answers. For me, it’s to let your imagination run wild. My first boss told me something that stuck with me to this day: “Think of an idea that will get us fired, then scale it back.” I chuckled at the time, yet every time I’ll ideate, I can hear his voice. And, over the years, it’s proven to be the catalyst to some of my most creative work. Another once told me to listen to what the client isn’t telling you. Take what they think the problem is with a pinch of salt and think outside the box to identify the true root to their issues – then present a solution unlike any other. Now, I’m not saying go and fire yourself, or ignore your client. Both are not favourable. Instead, be curious. Explore, dream, dare, and let your creativity run wild. Next time you’re faced with a creative challenge, try drawing with a different pen. You may just surprise yourself.

People aren’t BORN creative; they MAKE themselves that way. Here’s the ninth of 10 tips on how you can make yourself creative, too: Do it “just because.” The worst question for a creator is, “so, what are you going to do with that?” It suggests that — to be meaningful — everything we make needs a purpose. No, it does not! Sometimes creative work is just for the fun of it. You can create something because you feel like doing it. Don’t let concerns about function drain the creativity from your soul. ??
