Buildots unveils AI-powered forecasting tool to mitigate construction delays
Buildots, an AI construction technology company, has recently launched its latest feature called ‘Delay Forecast’.
The AI-powered tool predicts delay risks and alerts construction teams about potential pace issues, allowing them to take proactive measures to mitigate potential delays before they escalate.
Additionally, the feature provides a granular, activity-level analysis of the root cause of delays that helps project managers improve performance and strategy continually.
The Delay Forecast feature is intuitively integrated into Buildots’ main dashboard and flags activities that are at risk of falling behind schedule. It quantifies those risks through projections of predicted delays, as well as providing recommendations for pace corrections to prevent delays. When users get delay alerts, they can input new pace assumptions and see how these changes might affect the timeline, allowing them to optimise and fine-tune strategies and determine the best path forward.
The dashboard also enables project teams to track risk trends week by week, allowing them to see the real-life impact of their decisions. Buildots says that it developed this feature after conducting research that found 62% of construction site activities consistently run slower than planned, and 25% run at half their planned pace.
The research also revealed that many times, critical activities performed poorly week after week, and these issues go unnoticed until they have already significantly impacted project timelines.

The new feature is said to have been beta-tested on a number of global construction sites and has been shown to facilitate a 50% reduction in delay times when used together with the PDCM method.
