Part of my approach when auditing Shopify stores is identifying parts that are no longer needed. For instance, I worked with a merchant a while back who had multiple apps "hidden" in the customizer that they no longer used or even had an account for, but they weren't aware of this until we did a deep dive. Additionally, they had a form on their website that they wanted to change the copy on, but it turns out they weren't using that service for months now and had switched to Klaviyo, but had forgotten about that form, so we ended up building a new form with their new service. Taking a deep dive like this into your store every so often helps keep your Shopify website healthy and fresh.

The beginning of the big Shopify switch over starts today! If you were on Shopify Plus making use of checkout.liquid, today is it's last day and customers will need to have updated their information, shipping and payment pages to Checkout Extensibility. Yikai has put out some super useful content (links in the comments) covering what is required and how to test your set up when migrating tracking like GA4, Google Ads and Meta to checkout extensibility. The deadlines don't stop there though: ?? August 28, 2025: Deadline to upgrade your Thank you and Order status pages, including your apps using script tags and additional scripts. It may be over a year away, but if the last 24 months of tech deadlines have taught us anything, it's that you need to get ahead of them ASAP!
