The FAA has issued Temporary Flight Restrictions (TFRs), essentially banning drone operations, in areas of New Jersey until January 17 due to "special security reasons." The temporary flight restrictions (TFR) are active now: Hamilton, Bridgewater, Cedar Grove, North Brunswick, Metuchen, Evesham, Camden, Gloucester City, Westampton, South Brunswick, Edison, Branchburg, Sewaren, Jersey City, Harrison, Elizabeth, Bayonne, Winslow, Burlington, Clifton, Hancocks Bridge, Kearny. The previously issued TFRs for Bedminster and Picatinny Arsenal remain in place. >> More towns to be added to the list. Pilots who fail to abide by these restrictions can be "intercepted, detained, and interviewed by the law enforcement/security personnel." Note that the FAA can also take administrative action including imposing civil penalties and suspend/revoke the airmen certificate as well as pursue criminal charges. This week's update covers unauthorised drone activity over farms, ongoing meetings with officials, and upcoming events. Highlights: ?? Illegal Drone Activity: If you're finding drones over your property, we need to know about it. You need to report it to the police. So let us know what's happening. ?? Drone Legislation: We've spoken with the Victorian Farmers Federation and will speak to other farm organisations to seek changes in legislation and regulation for national consistency regarding drone activity over farmland. ?? Meetings and Discussions: Minister Howlett met with us and we spoke about wildlife water, shipping fodder, and utilising deer. ?? Upcoming Events: On the fifth of July, we'll have a board meeting in Orford and a member gathering afterwards at about 6:30. ??? Weather Update: Fingers crossed, but the rain is on the way. ?? Membership Survey: In the coming weeks, there'll be a membership survey. As always have a great weekend.
