But the chef-owner of the restaurant that she's been spending a lot of time at in NYC, Emilio's Ballato, is giving her a place to hang out in Florida. Anthony Vitolo is opening Vitolo at the oceanside Conrad Fort Lauderdale Beach hotel with his business partner Rob Crosoli. The menu at Vitolo will feature a number of the Italian classics well known to regulars at Ballato's in New York. They include the best-selling tagliatelle Bolognese, plate-sized chicken parm and shrimp fra diavolo. But he's adding some dishes inspired by his new waterside location, like lobster ravioli. The wine list?? Mostly Italian. And the cocktails will riff on well known drinks like negronis and old fashioneds. Vitolo says that though he's gotten a lot of offers to open in Miami, it's "too congested." Crosoli, director of VIP services at the ultra club E11EVEN MIAMI, who knows about congested Miami, adds that Fort Lauderdale is "fresh canvas" with an ever expanding food scene.
