What we do though, when we put our money out in the world, we have a way to infuse it just a bit with our values and even a little bit of our soul. Hey everybody, I look a little haggard because I'm in the middle of a hike but it reminded me of something I thought I would share a connecting the dot story. So if you see this waterfall that's near me on this hike, can I get to it? Maybe. Anyway, there's the waterfall. Hopefully you can hear it. It reminds me of this important story that I share with everyone I work with about fundraising. And that is the story I heard from author Lynn Twist in. Her book The Soul of Money, and in it she talks about the fact that all of us have money, but none of us really own it for very long. Because what happens is money flows through us just like a river. And some of us have a big river and some of us have a little stream. But either way, it comes through us. We get it somehow, and then we give it away because we have to pay our bills or donate it or send our kids to college or go out to dinner with our friends, whatever. We're doing that. What we do though, when we put our money out in the world, we have a way to infuse it just a bit with our values and even a little bit of our soul. So I encourage you to think about that, that every time, especially as a fundraiser, that you get a donation from someone. What are the values that they're putting into that gift?
