We believe that Young people everywhere should be able to creatively explore their identity. It's crucial that spaces to do that are joyful, safe and uncensored. In two days, we'll share our Affinity Group Blueprint: a set of resources for youth theatres or groups who are interested in Affinity Groups: spaces for young people to come together with other young people and artists who share an identity, and to creatively explore that together. We'll be sharing the Blueprint alongside two short films that were created by young people from Black is Safe, our first affinity group.

Seasonal Saturday Silliness: One of the best ideas I ever had was to commission my college buddy Paul Young and his animation start up, Cartoon Saloon, to create a virtual Christmas Card. We’re talking more than 20 years ago, btw, so this was a VERY new-fangled idea. Cutting. Edge. Bleeding edge, in fact. Back then, when the internet was young, if you talked about things going viral, people asked if you’d seen a doctor about it. But nevertheless, the vibrant and adventurous communications agency I worked with let me at it, bless them. And this is the result. Shout out to Claire Bonner and all the Morrow Communications crew for letting the weird art college kid do her thing! I know that humour doesn’t really age all that well, but this little project has a very special place in my heart, and still makes me laugh every time I come across it. Awed by the quality of Paul’s writing and voice acting. If you’ve been in Norn Iron long enough, or understand the background to this place, I hope it’ll bring you a smile. And if you haven’t, it’s still a fun relic from the dawn of the internet, back in last century ;) Cartoon Saloon, btw, went on to receive a whopping FOUR Oscar nominations for their incredible feature length work on animations like The Secret Of Kells, The Breadwinner and Song of the Sea. So whatever you’ve got to celebrate at this time of year, let’s celebrate humour, trying new things, the success of others, and the fact that change does come - even if it doesn’t always look like it will. #northernireland #animation #christmas #communications #ideas

Today, we remember all those whose lives have been affected by conflict since World War One. It's important to acknowledge this day, especially for children. So here are some ways to help children mark the occasion and honour our fallen: 1. ?????????????? ?????? ??????-???????????? ?????????????? - Held at 11am on Remembrance Sunday and Remembrance Day; this is a simple but profound act to help introduce young people to the concept of remembrance. You can also try to explain the significance of this to children so that they understand why it's observed. 2. ?????????????? - Poppies are a mark of remembrance for those who have fallen across the years and are commonly seen in the weeks leading up to today. An excellent way for children to learn about them is to create their poppies using paper plates, cupcake liners and other arts & crafts materials. 3. ???????? ?????? ???????????????? ???? ???????? ?????? ???? ???????????? ?????? ??????-????-????????????-?????????? ??????????. Schools and term time clubs often commemorate Remembrance Day; however, you can also do many activities at home, such as painting, creative writing, visiting a war memorial or museum and much, much more! 4. ?????????? ?????? ?????????? ?????????? ?????? ??????.
