Here are some ways we spread gratitude, celebrate each other, and create a sense of community and belonging at Acuity Insights. ?? Giving Tacos. Our Taco channel on Slack, powered by HeyTaco, is a space where our team members recognize each other throughout the day with shoutouts and messages of appreciation that include taco emojis. ?? Giving Cheers. On Fridays, team members meet on Zoom to give cheers to peers. That means we raise our glass (or cup or bottle) collectively in real time to share the small and big impacts people and teams made that week. ?? + ?? Cake Days & Taco Days: These sweet & savoury annual social events are when we gather together—in person or virtually—to eat tacos and cake to celebrate our team and our biggest wins of the year. Peppernuts, themed ornaments, and a live action Nativity. Yes, these topics opened our bi-weekly all-team meeting today. Why? Though some may argue it is more efficient to dive right into successes, to do’s, items of discussion, etc. I have to disagree. It is too easy to take for granted that a team can become like a family, if nurtured well. So every time we hold this meeting, we open with an icebreaker question - fun, deep, lighthearted, impactful, anything – so long as it brings us closer together and teaches us something about one another. “What is your favorite Christmas tradition?” can be just as important a question as ‘what’s next?’

Milky Bar Madness ?? ?? Every week I put together a fun game for our team to play after our end of week wrap up - a quiz showdown with the ultimate prize: A sweet treat of the winners choice!??? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? Something so small, cheap, easy and costs next to nothing = the team leaving with the biggest smiles. The laughter and camaraderie that erupts brings us all a little bit closer together. Sometimes it really is the simple things that create a great working culture. ?? Sure, we've have our fancy team outings, bougee restaurants, incentive trips etc but nothing quite compares to the simple joy of a little chocolate-fuelled team building. Because at the end of the day, it's these small moments of fun and connection that really create the core culture of not just our business Alnaas Advisory but any business ? P.S. Why did I title this "Milkybar Madness" because last weeks winner decided to share their prize on Tuesday and the team really did enjoy themselves..... please take a look at exhibit "A" below. ?? I am not naming any names but 54 bars and I'm left with only 2 on a Thursday ?? ?? Can't wait for this afternoons 90s and Early 2000s Music quiz!!!! ???? I'd love to hear what other companies and people do that helps build culture? ?? In the famous words of Peter Drucker "Culture eats Strategy for breakfast" ??

My challenge this week for inspiring your team and building culture: Celebrate your team! And don’t overthink it. There are a ton of quick, easy, not super expensive ways to do this. Check out these ideas and add at least one of them to your calendar: ?? 1. Order lunch for everyone. 2. Serve together at a local food bank, or nursing home, or create care bags to send out. 3. Have a party – find an excuse, and go for it. 4. Give them a gift. 5. Take someone out to lunch. 6. Invite their families to a picnic, dinner, or other activity. 7. Get active together through a race or 5K, and cover registration fees. 8. Have an awards show and make people feel extra special. 9. Get together for happy hour at a local spot. 10. Have a contest – the options are endless. Those are a few ideas off the top of my head, and I bet you can come up with more that fit your team and your culture, too.
