Please join us tonight for "The cost of caring for others: Exploring low self-care agency among EMS practitioners during the COVID-19 pandemic" at 7pm EST. Via google meet: https://lnkd.in/ej9BZeJx We are presenting a session for Unity Bands Inc. (all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization supporting low-income healthcare workers and providing credible public health information to at-risk communities). During the COVID-19 pandemic, frontline healthcare workers were tasked with taking care of others in extreme circumstances, which likely made it difficult for them to care for themselves. EMS participants scored the lowest on a self-care agency measure among all the other healthcare job categories in our study. Low self-care agency among EMS was probably not about a lack understanding of the need for self-care, but was likely related physical, cognitive, and psychosocial pressures of the situation and environment. EMS providers take care of so many others, and it is important for them to take care of themselves, which may require increased knowledge, motivation, and competencies to promote health, and prevent disease. Cooperative society registration is a process that empowers a gathering of people or elements to meet up to accomplish a shared objective or benefit. To register a cooperative society one should present an application to the Registrar of Cooperative Societies, alongside the expected reports and expenses. The records required regularly incorporate the society's constitution by regulations and membership certificates. The Recorder will then confirm the reports and direct an examination of the general public before giving a registration certificate.
